It was a lovely surprise to come across the Tyneside Cinema in Venice.  Located in a quiet corner of Campo Santa Margherita in the Dorsoduro area of the city, the work is Object Cinema by Darren Banks; a new commission by Tyneside Cinema premiering here in Venice.  The screening is in the large window of the building each night until Saturday from 8.45 pm until half past midnight.

The piece reflects on the idea of the lost art of the film poster.

Tyneside Cinema is also supporting Vertigo Sea another new commission by John Akomfrah.  This can be seen in the main Giardini Biennale site in the Central Pavilion.
